Overview

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Intern with a strong interest in event management. This role will support the planning, coordination, and promotion of events while assisting with marketing and communication efforts to drive attendance and engagement. It’s an ideal opportunity for a college student looking to gain hands-on experience in event planning, logistics, and promotional strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and coordinating events (workshops, conferences, campus events, webinars, etc.)
  • Support event logistics, including scheduling, vendor coordination, registrations, and on-site execution
  • Help develop promotional materials and campaigns to drive event attendance
  • Create and manage event-related content for social media, email, and website updates
  • Draft event communications such as invitations, reminders, run-of-show documents, and follow-ups
  • Track event RSVPs and attendee data, and assist with post-event reporting
  • Conduct research on venues, vendors, and event trends
  • Provide on-site or virtual event support as needed (setup, check-in, coordination)
  • Collaborate with marketing team to align event messaging with overall brand strategy

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Interest in event planning and coordination
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic marketing concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

  • Must maintain professional appearance
  • Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis

Physical and Mental Demands


This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking. This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate and communicate.
