Role Summary
The Clinical Development and Engagement Lead is responsible for advancing the professional development, engagement, onboarding, and integration of MPOWERHealth’s Surgical Assist (SA) teams. This role partners closely with Clinical Leadership, Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR, Marketing, and Business Development to ensure a high-quality clinician experience from candidate assessment through long-term engagement and retention. The Lead serves as a key steward of clinical culture, clinician experience, and workforce growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Talent Assessment & Selection
· Partner with internal and external Talent Acquisition teams to conduct first-pass reviews of candidates and identify high-potential clinicians
· Determine candidates to advance through the interview process and coordinate next steps with SA Managers and Talent Acquisition
· Develop and maintain SOPs, interview guides, and assessment tools to evaluate clinical skills, professionalism, culture fit, and alignment with MPOWERHealth values
· Ensure Culture Index completion and distribution alongside candidate materials
· Provide SA Managers with consistently high-quality candidate pools for final interviews
· Coach clinical leaders on effective interviewing techniques to strengthen talent identification and ensure a positive candidate experience
· Continuously review and improve job descriptions and recruiting materials
· Maintain organized tracking of candidates, interviews, and hired clinicians
2. Clinical Onboarding & Early Development
· Own and continuously improve clinical onboarding materials, training content, workflows, and SOPs
· Partner with HR, IT, Credentialing, Operations, and Talent Managers to ensure seamless onboarding execution
· Lead onboarding meetings for new hires and coordinate hybrid onboarding experiences when appropriate
· Ensure all clinical access, logins, equipment, and resources are in place prior to onboarding start date
· Conduct 30-day follow-ups with new hires, provide feedback to SA Leadership, and implement improvement actions
· Collaborate with clinical markets to develop structured onboarding, mentorship, and market-specific orientation support
· Travel as needed to support onboarding initiatives
3. Clinical Development & Professional Growth
· Partner with Clinical Leadership to identify skill gaps and development needs across SA teams
· Support development and implementation of clinical education resources, competency standards, and best practices
· Assist in identifying high-potential clinicians and opportunities for mentorship or advanced responsibility
· Collaborate with Quality and Education teams to align development initiatives with clinical excellence standards
4. Clinical Engagement & Experience
· Own and evolve clinician engagement strategies across the full clinician lifecycle
· Maintain and enhance engagement initiatives, including company updates, announcements, recognition efforts, and team communications
· Develop new engagement opportunities that foster connection, inclusion, and alignment with MPOWERHealth culture
· Partner with Operations to address engagement challenges related to scheduling, workload, and market-specific needs
· Serve as an advocate for SA teams by elevating feedback, trends, and improvement opportunities
· Collaborate with Marketing to tailor branding materials for recruiting, conferences, and engagement initiatives
5. Recruiting Conferences & Brand Representation
· Partner with Business Development to identify, organize, and attend high-yield recruiting conferences
· Serve as a clinical-facing representative of MPOWERHealth at events
· Lead follow-up efforts with interested candidates post-conference
· Evaluate conference effectiveness and return on investment related to recruiting and brand awareness
6. Integration & Retention Support
· Support SA Operations and Clinical Leadership during integrations, market expansions, or acquisitions
· Provide integration support including engagement strategy, communication, and onboarding alignment
· Conduct post-integration follow-ups to assess clinician satisfaction and experience
· Partner with HR and Clinical Leadership on retention strategies and early intervention efforts
· Provide recommendations to leadership based on engagement, onboarding, and retention insights
· Travel as needed to support integration efforts
7. Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
· Track and analyze metrics related to recruiting pipeline, onboarding timelines, engagement, and retention
· Identify trends and opportunities for improvement across the clinician lifecycle
· Ensure documentation, SOPs, and processes remain current and audit-ready
· Present insights and recommendations to clinical and operational leadership
Qualifications & Skills
· Clinical background or significant experience working with surgical teams preferred
· Strong interpersonal, interviewing, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
· Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution
· Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
· Comfortable working in a growth-oriented, evolving environment
· Willingness to travel as needed
