Responsibilities

Job Summary:

 

The VP, Revenue Cycle Management is responsible leading revenue cycle management functions for the organization and driving efficient, accurate and compliant billing activities to maximize reimbursement. 

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Leads, directs, and oversees operations and activities for all of the RCM functions aligned to the goals of the organization. 
  • Leads the development and implementation of revenue cycle strategies, processes, and improvement initiatives to continuously improve the RCM process to maximize our billings and collections. 
  • Determine the structure of the revenue cycle management team to maximize RCM operations and cost. 
  • Ensures compliance in all aspects of RCM activities including coding and billing rules and regulations by payer and state. 
  • Responsible for monitoring and responding to any legislation/regulatory billing changes. 
  • Ensure the identification, analysis and implementation of solutions designed to improve collection rates 
  • Drive the design, execution, monitoring and assessment of key RCM performance metrics to refine processes and improve efficiencies/productivity to reduce overall costs. 
  • Lead and manage large revenue cycle projects such as audits, budgets, and technology enhancements. 
  • Develop key relationships with Payers and Industry leaders to respond to trends in the healthcare industry to drive any necessary changes or improvements in revenue cycle mgmt. activities. 
  • Responsible for building and designing a high-performance management team by function and infrastructure to scale with the projected sales growth of the business 
  • Develop and implement strategies, processes and technology to continuously improve and manage the revenue cycle in a fast-paced, high-volume, evolving healthcare market. 
  • Consult and work directly with leadership across managed care, payers and with technology to advise and consult on key processes and resource needs to improve operations, productivity, and collection rates 
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field. 
  • At least 5 years of experience in healthcare receivables management 
  • 3 years  years experience in a senior management role 

 

Skills/Specialized Knowledge 

 

  • Extensive knowledge of medical insurance billing and collections across Medicare, Medicaid and managed care including ICD-10 and HCPC coding and terminology. 
  • Extensive knowledge in collecting, analyzing, and reporting revenue cycle management data used to identify opportunities and strategies for improvement. 
  • Proven record of managing and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines. 
  • Ability to present and communicate with various audiences including Executive team 
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Physical and Mental Demands 

 

This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking. This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate and communicate.
